World Asteroid Day

  June 30, is recognised as World Asteroid Day . This day is about spreading awareness about the hazardous impact of an asteroid collision on Earth.  Now let's assume a situation: 30 June 2021, Breaking News!!, The Punguska asteroid has taken a massive turn in its trajectory and is heading towards the earth at high speeds. An estimation is provided that the asteroid will collide on 19:30 2 July 2021 in Central and South Asia. Please do the needful in these situations. I guess you all will be dumbstruck not knowing what to do exactly. World Day of the Tropics

June 29, is recognised as World Day of the Tropics . The tropics is a region between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. They are also known as the torrid zone. They are generally hot and are humid as well. The tropics constitute nearly 95% of the world's mangrove forests. Mangrove Forests are considered to be the single-man army for eliminating the Carbon-Dioxide and filling the air with the rejuvenating Oxygen. The beast Amazon rainforest is a part of the tropics which is the soul of the southern hemisphere. Despite the natural beauty of the forests, the wildlife is in danger as well. The most exotic fauna live in the tropical rainforests and it is our duty to protect them. Let's all take a step back and reconsider some of our mean actions that have caused the destruction of the environment and rectify our mistakes.

June 28, is recognised as WORLD CAPS LOCK DAY . This day is more of a fun one, on this day there are hundreds of memes on how people use the caps lock. Caps lock was used to capitalise the letters and make the letters bold. But later it transformed into the aesthetics and sometimes meant as shouting. I am sure many of us would have continued typing and later found that they had caps lock on and now they had a bunch of text shouting at them. Actually the reason behind the development of caps lock was not actually for english but for some of the other scripts which are a compulsory. World Industrial Workers Day

  June 27, is recognised as  World Industrial Workers Day . Due to the Industrial Revolution, there are a lot of Industrial workers who are working hard in their fields. Sometimes, we overlook the important part the industrial organisation plays in our lives. Let's learn about the history for this day! There was a violent clash in 1919 , there was a fight between the American Legion and Wobblies(industrialists). The fight was for to defend the rights and fair treatment for them. On this day, all the industrial workers come together and build themselves a happy and friendly ecosystem. If you are one of the Industrial worker, let us thank you for all the good deeds you have done. 

World Day against Drug Abuse and illicit Trafficking

This day is popularly known as World Drug Day and is brought to strengthen action and co-operation in achieving the goal of a world free of drug abuse. World Seafarers Day

 June 25, is recognized as World Seafarers Day . The occupation seafarer in layman's term is a sailor. To understand the struggle of sailors: we know that soldier's life is full of sacrifices and struggle, so now imagine you are doing the same, but in the middle of nowhere in the ocean sailing and protecting the country. On this day, #FairFuture4Seafarers   is a worldwide event where people all over the world come together and talk about the issues faced by seafarers. World trade is 30 % dependent on sea-trade.  This day is about giving same levels of training, general welfare and safety standards to all seafarers. On this day, let us raise awareness towards the struggles of seafarers and importance of their sea service.

World Fairy Day

 June 24, is recognized as World Fairy Day . We all know that Fairies are found in Tales and children's storybooks. Fairies no matter their culture always fight for the good or the evil but as we know the good always wins. Reading storybooks like Cinderella or Puss in Boots gave way to the imaginative and creative minds of the youth. Fairies are everywhere these days ranging from books, movies, cartoons, games, ads and action figures. On this day, small kids dress up as their favorite characters and role-play some of their favorite scenes. The magic involved with fairy tales is the most exciting aspect of it.

World Olympic Day

  June 23, is recognised as Word Olympic Day . World olympic day is one of the events that's climbing the ladder with millions joining in on this day each year.  Each year, 14,000 athletes start ultramarathon which is a marathon for 24 hours!! The pillars of olympic day are Move, Learn and Discover. "Move" refers to the movement of physical activities. "Learn" refers to the lesson of humanity, education of sports and friendship. "Discover" talks about inviting and encouraging people to try new sports and activities that they have never tried before. The main idea of olympic day is to encourage everyone to stay healthy and engage in physical activity without discrimination of gender, age and athletic ability. World Rainforest Day

 June 22, is recognised as World Rainforest Day . Rainforests are one of the vital component of the biosphere. One of the main concerns looked on this day is about the extensive consumption of meat. When meat is required in a large scale it causes overgrazing of cattle and  hence deforestation.  Many people don't eat meat on this day in order to save the rainforests. A depressing fact is that every minute, we lose 40 football fields of rainforests. We must also choose different type of oils other than palm oil so that rainforests aren't a victim of palm plantations.  Live and Let live isn't just for the animals, it's also for the plants and trees as well. Rainforests are the main reason for the reduction of Global-warming. Let us protect the shade of these forests and if we destroy them, we will have to suffer without its shade.

World Yoga day

June 21, is recognised as  World Yoga day . Yoga is a physical, mental and a spiritual way of leading our life. Yoga was originated in India. Yoga is one of the traditional gifts given to mankind. On this day more than a million people across the globe do yoga for 35 minutes. In yoga we give importance to our mind, breath and body. The word "Yoga" is derived from the word "yuj" which means "to unite".  Yoga is an ocean of benefits like stress relief, builds strength, regulates BP, mind-peace, sharpens concentration, etc. Yoga has helped millions to better th eir lives and you can too .

World Refugee Day

June 20, is recognised as  World Refugee Day . This day is celebrated by the refugees from around the world. Refugees are the people who fled their country to find a safer place for them to live in harmony. One of the unique ideas about this day is that refugees are the main reason for a diverse culture in every country.  "Together we heal, Together we learn, Together we shine" is the main idea of the UN  in order to improve the lives of the refugees.  Survival is not just the primary focus of a human being. To feel the joy of each day, thrive in their respective fields, have companionship and the happiness in life is also a must born-right to every individual.

World Sauntering Day

19 June, is recognised as World Sauntering Day . The word "Saunter" means to walk slowly in a relaxed manner. On this day, people take a walk without any gadgets (must mention in 21 C) and just witness the beauty of the nature. The whole idea of World Sauntering Day is to just take a pause in our hectic daily life and take a long walk with fresh energy in ourselves. This day is highly celebrated in German schools and there is a positive response about it. In our digital life, we are driven by the responsibilities of our social and work life. So, for one day at-least lets turn off our phones and go for a stroll through the road and be grateful for our wonderful life. :)

World Sushi Day

  June 18, is recognised as World Sushi Day . Sushi is the traditional Japanese dish popularised across the world through it's presentation.  Many people are advised to explore many cuisines and take their taste buds on a whole new journey. Sushi is considered as a  delicate art of the chef. Food lovers always use a chopstick to have the Sushi as its a part of their tradition. An interesting fact is that Sushi doesn't always have to be meat it can also have a mixture of veggies. Speaking in the view point of health, Sushi has a good mixture of Proteins, Vitamins and carbs. World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought

  June 17, is recognised as  World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought . On this the UN  comes up with a different strategy each year to prevent desertification and drought. This year's idea "We build back better with healthy land" is to turn the degraded land into healthy land. Land is the foundation for all life forms. Hence, it must be prevented from its degradation. Land can be protected by following the principles of sustainable development. UN specifies that in 2020 , it observed that strong community support helped a lot in protecting the Land. We must never forget that we don't inherit the resources from our forefathers, we borrow it from the future generation. Let's protect our own land and and in-turn save the planet.

World Fudge Day

June 16, is recognised as World Fudge Day . Fudge is the most delicious snack having amazing flavours like Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Maple and White Chocolate. Fudge is also commonly known as one of the experimental foods because of the mix and match with the flavours. During 19th C , Fudge was considered as one of the expensive food. This was so because Fudge was really difficult to make with the available tools of 19th C. But it is not the case in today's time, it is fairly quick and a easy-to-do snack.  One of the fun activities which is held out on the day is "Give someone the gift of fudge" . Children on this day give out a gift of Fudge to their Best Friends. Giving out the Fudge means that the receiver is trusted by the giver and the receiver accepts that they will be loyal to the giver.

World Wind Day

 June 15, is recognised as World Wind Day . The Day is not merely about the vital role which the wind plays in our life but also about the revolutionising power of wind energy. Wind energy is the main source of energy for millions. Wind energy in current days has the capacity to fulfil the electricity needs of 30 countries. As the statistics shows that countries rich in wind energy like Netherlands and Germany have seen an uprise in their national economy as well.  On World Wind Day, many participants through the globe work together in order to spread awareness in schools, colleges and offices. On this day, the social media is flooded with pictures of the nature as its one of the iconic rituals to pay tribute to mother nature.

World Blood Donor Day

June 14, is recognized as World Blood Donor Day . World Blood Donor Day was held in memory of Karl Landsteiner who was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the ABO blood group system. The aspect of this day is that blood donation is a charity where blood is much more valuable than money. Every year, more than a million lives are saved by the Transfusion of blood. Some countries have stored donated blood for emergencies but some countries still depend upon family members and paid donors. WHO is determined to change the situation of these countries by 2022. Blood is the most important resource for life. The donated blood is like a second chance given by god. Donating blood is a mutual benefit, both to the donor and receiver. WHO says that every blood donor is a hero. Donation of blood, helping the specially-abled and many other good deeds can help the society to be a healthier and a safer one. Health is Wealth an d it is in our hands to protect it safely.

World Sewing Machine Day

June 13, is observed as World Sewing Machine Day . The World Sewing Machine Day was started to remember the machine which revolutionised the textile industry. The widely-used sewing machine was invented by the French tailor Barthélemy Thimonnier in 1829.  In less than 25 years after's its invention, the US manufactured more than 110,000 machines. The majority  of the women became the bread earner of the family by sewing.  As the invention of the sewing machine drastically reduces the time taken for making a dress. This gave way for improved designs. On this day, you can open out the sewing machine you had put out in the garage and start using it while remembering the nostalgic memory of your grandmother knitting a jumper for you. How much ever we advance in technology we must never forget some of the most inspirational tools of the past like the needle, the tire and the rope.

World Day Against Child Labour

  June 12, Saturday is recognized as  World Day Against Child Labor . The main significance of the World Day Against Child Labor is to look into the problem of Child Labor and find ways to eradicate this social-evil. The day is not just about the physical problems faced by children forced into child labor is also about counselling and protecting the children's mental well-being.  This year we have seen increasing hikes of Child labor rising up to  160 Million  in 2021.This year's theme for the World Day Against Child Labor is " Act now: end child labor!".  The theme motivates us to start a spark in our minds to contribute and be aware that employing a child for work is illegal and is a morally wrong idea. We must never forget that the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. We must join our hands together to give them the best education and health. Thi s will improve the World in every possible way.
