June 14, is recognized as World Blood Donor Day. World Blood Donor Day was held in memory of Karl Landsteiner who was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the ABO blood group system. The aspect of this day is that blood donation is a charity where blood is much more valuable than money.
Every year, more than a million lives are saved by the Transfusion of blood. Some countries have stored donated blood for emergencies but some countries still depend upon family members and paid donors. WHO is determined to change the situation of these countries by 2022.
Blood is the most important resource for life. The donated blood is like a second chance given by god. Donating blood is a mutual benefit, both to the donor and receiver. WHO says that every blood donor is a hero.
Donation of blood, helping the specially-abled and many other good deeds can help the society to be a healthier and a safer one. Health is Wealth and it is in our hands to protect it safely.
Nice post. Every donar is a hero!!
