World Zoonoses Day

July 6, is recognised as World Zoonoses Day. To start of, zoonosis directly means an infectious disease transmitted from animals to humans. We yet don't have enough evidence to suggest that COVID-19 has come through a bat which would mean that it can be a zoonotic disease.

The source of a zoonotic disease may be anything like a virus, bacteria or parasite. By many different activities, these sources are then transmitted to an animal. Then different activities cause transmission of these infections to human beings. and then as we know a vicious chain reaction takes place killing thousands.

This day's main intention is to raise awareness about diseases like Ebola, Rabies, Lyme disease, etc. On This day, the first successful vaccination for Chicken Cholera was brought out by Louis Pasteur.
