July 13, is recognised as World Rock Day. The entire core of the lithosphere is made up of rocks and its products. Rocks are basically the home of millions of minerals, it's true that when you pick up a rock it may have the rarest metals embedded in them but would naturally be failed to notice by the common audience.
Let's learn about a few major groups of rocks:-
➤ Igneous Rocks - They are formed from the solidification of molten rock material.
➤ Sedimentary Rocks - They are formed by the accumulation or deposition of mineral.
➤ Metamorphic Rocks - They are formed by the existing Igneous rocks, Sedimentary rocks or Metamorphic rocks.
Throughout the 'Stone'age stones have been the man's helpful tool. Stones have their own geological model called the rock cycle. It may be very interesting to hear that rocks are a subject where many superstitions from different culture are based on.
