July 10 is recognised as World Energy Independence Day. This day's reason is to promote awareness for alternate forms of energy. The alternate forms of energy means the renewable forms of energy such as solar energy, wind energy, wave energy and geothermal energy.
An average human being uses about 78 million BTU (British thermal Units). In our life we use a lot of daily machines like coffee maker, cooling system and wood-burning stove, and let's be honest that we use these more than our need. This constitutes a great deal of energy and hence an energy crisis. There is nothing more to it, the nature's problems are just a mere reflection of our actions.
July 10 also coincides with the birthday of Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla was one of the highly respected inventor who was regarded as the most genius inventor who thought ahead of time in his elegant theories.
The situation of modern times is so beautifully explained by Nikola Tesla:-
"Today's scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality."
